The training covered: Port/Logistics, Shipbuilding and Repair/Seagoing/Maritime, and Recreational/Pleasure, and touched on the different occupational pathways that exist in each sector. Special guest Honorable Helen Delich Bentley presented a history lesson on the Port and the group went on tours of the NS (Nuclear Ship) Savannah, the Coast Guard Yard, the Dundalk and Seagirt Terminals, and other port businesses. Clair will be incorporating the knowledge she gained during the institute into MND's upcoming Maritime Transportation and Logistics Training program. In partnership with employers and industry professionals from the Port of Baltimore, this training will prepare job-seekers with a working knowledge of the Port of Baltimore and critical skills needed for employment in entry-level positions in the maritime industry.
